In his lectures, Rudolf Steiner shows how spiritual beings of various hierarchies influence historical events with their impulses, such as in the migrations of nations, the Crusades, or the Reformation and the Thirty Years' War. He explains the difference between the actions of normally evolving beings, those lagging in development, and those who rush too much and overshoot their target. He also addresses the development of human consciousness in individual post-Atlantean epochs and the threat of excessive intellectualization of human thought.
