Ulisse and Achille are two young wolves. They were found abandoned in the forest and were then entrusted to the care of Elisa and volunteers at the Monte Adone station – a facility in the Apennines near Bologna, Italy, where injured wild animals are cared for. The wolf cubs are expected to remain in captivity for the rest of their lives, as wolves raised in close proximity to humans do not learn the language and laws of the pack, and without this knowledge, they would not survive in the wild. However, Elisa and her colleagues at the rescue station want to try. Perhaps a bit foolishly, they are attempting to return the forest its children and allow the wolves to live freely in their natural environment. Their brave effort to return the wolves to freedom is closely followed by Giuseppe Festa.
