In the 2nd updated and supplemented edition of the publication Creating Individual Educational Plans (IEP) for Students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, changes in legislation are taken into account, specifically in the amendment to Decree No. 27/2016 Coll., on the education of students with special educational needs and gifted students. The publication is also supplemented with suggestions for educating students with ASD in the context of distance learning. Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) are among the most serious developmental disorders in children. The impacts of the diagnosis, affecting all areas of the child's and their family's life, handicap some students with ASD to such an extent that without a highly individualized approach, their education would not be possible at all. Although according to the new legislation it is not necessary to develop an IEP for students with special educational needs in all cases, this supportive measure remains an integral part of the education of these children. Most students with ASD need to adjust the educational process in terms of organizational, social, communicative, and educational aspects as specifically as possible, while the Recommendations from the Educational Counseling Center, prepared by counseling staff, are more general, and only daily work with the student and understanding them allows for the individual recommendations to be specified and flexibly adjusted if necessary.
