A group of five Slovak university students flies to Peru to familiarize themselves with the lives of ordinary inhabitants, away from the most typical tourist centers. Eager to explore the interior where they won't have to push through crowds of foreign travelers, they accept an offer from a local young man named Solomon, who wants to show them a magical place in the heart of the jungle. Our curious and fearless adventurers – three boys and two girls, armed with a camera, photo equipment, and a necessary bottle of homemade spirits – find themselves in places they never even dreamed of. But not everything in this jungle paradise is romantic and ideal. And as it often goes, Nina, Marko, Renča, Jojo, and Vik will discover the dark side of expeditions into the unknown. The author of the books Bestie and Oni now presents his debut novel to Czech readers, which was published in Slovakia in 2016 and caused quite a stir with its uncompromising portrayal. It is a raw work that pays homage to B-movie horror films from the 1980s while probing into the minds of young Central Europeans confronted with pure savagery.
