Beschreibung
A guide for therapists, psychologists, and parents. From the perspective of cognitive-behavioral therapy. The publication aims to raise awareness about the seriousness of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and presents therapy options and specifics when dealing with child or adolescent clients. The mental difficulties of a child or adolescent can be a result of instability and problems within the family. Unresolved issues sometimes trigger OCD. This mental disorder is very burdensome not only for the affected individual but also for their family. In its developed form, OCD leads to limitations in free time, disruption of social ties, and a decrease in academic performance or job loss. Depressive moods may arise, and almost always there is a decrease in self-esteem.
