Beschreibung
Personal memories of thirty years of the restoration of the Marian Column in Prague and not only of this work. Academic sculptor and restorer Jan Bradna (*1943) has half a century of creative work behind him, which has helped restore the lost beauty of many monuments in our territory, including those completely destroyed. It is no wonder that in 1988 he was captivated by the troubled fate of the Marian Column in the Old Town Square in Prague, to which he then dedicated more than three decades of his life. In his narrative, he presents his own story, which intersected with the amazing story of the reconstruction and return of the first Baroque sculpture to the Old Town Square. Jan Bradna played one of the central roles in it thanks to his profession and sense of rectifying injustices. It was a test of faith, full of dramatic twists, selfless and patient work. Although the text does not hide his professional expertise and lifelong creative spirit, it is primarily a kind testimony of one beautiful human life.
