Men are disappearing from the Toronto gay community. They are people on the fringes of society, vulnerable. One by one, they leave behind small groups of confused and frightened friends. Against the backdrop of homophobia over the decades, from the HIV/AIDS crisis and riots to gentrification and police brutality, survivors face the inaction of the law and societal indifference. But as the missing persons increase, the survivors begin to realize that whoever or whatever is abducting these men has been doing so longer than people can imagine. Interwoven into the stories of the disappeared is the personal story of David Demchuk, a life lived in fear and in the grip of horror. As he tries to understand the relationship between queer and horror, facts collide with fiction, and reality begins to unravel.
