Doporučený postup diagnostiky a léčby bronchiálního astmatu – group of authors (2015)

Bronchial asthma is among the most common lung diseases. The number of asthmatics in the Czech Republic is estimated to be around half a million people. The diagnosis of asthma is continually evolving and becoming more precise, as is the treatment and the medications used. The procedure that a doctor should follow in the case of asthma is summarized in professional medical recommendations intended for specialists and general practitioners, which are internationally referred to as guidelines. These are regularly published by the most prestigious international medical organizations and summarize the latest findings and recommendations for physicians. The Czech medical community also has its own guidelines (in Czech, "doporučený postup") for the treatment of bronchial asthma in its current form. A team of leading Czech experts prepared it as the official recommended procedure of two prestigious medical societies, the allergological and pneumological societies. The publication is intended for all doctors who come into contact with asthmatics and will serve as a guide for proper and modern asthma treatment.
