The issue of protection against fire initiation by electrical wiring and other electrical devices has been addressed since the early electrification of buildings. Only with the increasing demands on the transmitted power and the density of electrical wiring in buildings has it come more to the forefront. This guide, the only one on this topic in the Czech Republic, responds to the expanding construction not only of wooden buildings, especially wooden cabins and cottages, but also to the use of wood and similar materials that complement both the interior and exterior of buildings made from traditional materials (concrete, bricks, iron structures, etc.). At the same time as protecting buildings from fire initiation by electrical devices, the requirements for electrical installations, which must remain functional even during a fire, are also important.
