Hana Hrabáková has successfully published three volumes of the series "Stories for Coffee" in the past three years, and this year she comes out with another part of this short story series. The author addresses readers with a coherent collection of humorous texts literally "from life." The subtitle of the current short story book, "How to Survive Childhood," clearly hints at the thematic focus of her humorous texts. It must be added that memories of childhood "under socialism" are certainly not the only theme. The stories often delve into the corners of family life, offering a romanticized and humorous view of the adolescent period – regardless of the regime in which it took place, there are also worlds of pets and memories of what the world was like "once upon a time." Hana Hrabáková knows well what she writes about. After all, she has literarily pointed out what readers also experience and what life sometimes ruthlessly serves them. Yet, there is never a lack of perspective and sparkling humor.
