The Most Holy Trinosophy, a richly illustrated manuscript from the late 18th century, is one of the most beautiful books of the hermetic tradition. The text of the book, divided into twelve chapters in accordance with the signs of the zodiac, develops an impressive allegory of initiation that uncovers the secrets of Masonic legend and follows the course of the alchemical Great Work. The visual accompaniment of the book consists of original full-page illustrations along with headings and ending vignettes of individual chapters and final enigmatic signatures and sketches of secret signs and ciphers. The authorship of this French anonymous manuscript remains a subject of speculation and hypotheses. René Alleau, whose extensive study forms the introduction to the first Czech edition, proves that the author of the book was the mysterious Count de Saint Germain.
