Tajemné stezky - Beskydy: Údolím řeky Ostravice – Juřák Petr (2021)

In our second conversation about the Beskids, we will lead our steps through the region around the Ostravice River. Its water was more than life-giving; it gave rise to numerous workshops, businesses, and manufactories. Along its course, we will encounter many larger and smaller municipalities, often with remarkable histories and even more interesting events. For instance, we can mention the municipality of Ostravice or Bílá. Through the deep Beskid valleys, we will reach the highest places, many of which are crowned with historic tourist lodges that are inseparable from the Beskids. Are you interested in how people once lived in the villages, what provided them with a livelihood? How did they entertain themselves? Or how and where did children get educated? Yes, even the old schoolhouses and their teachers are included in the book, illustrating the multifaceted history of this region, where smuggling also flourished at one time.
