Beschreibung
This time, the writer Otomar Dvořák will introduce us to the ancient "Bechyně region," which once stretched from the Austrian and Moravian borders to the Brdy Mountains and the Vltava River above Prague. Rather than tourist signs and maps, we will be guided by the bizarre stories of local inhabitants, records from old chronicles, mysterious legends, and unresolved mysteries. Together, we will follow the flow of the Lužnice River from Příběnice to Týn nad Vltavou, enjoy a nostalgic retro ride on Křižík's electric train, explore prehistoric burial mounds and altars in the land of the dead around the Smutná stream, attempt to uncover the secrets of ritual objects from the magical hill Burkovák, see the "South Bohemian Holy Mountain," the spring of the violated maiden Rosalie, and the hermitage Na Poušti, surrounded by a petrified herd. At the Bechyně Castle, we will attend the wedding feast of Petr Vok of Rožmberk, wade through a stream beneath rocky overhangs in the wild Židova strouha, admire the Oriental travel frescoes in the Koloděje Castle, remember the tragedy at the imperial artillery training ground Velký Depot, descend into the underground labyrinth beneath Týn nad Vltavou, and of course, we will try to find the strange Bechyně balls or rare moldavites.
