Austrian goalkeeper Bernd Brückler did not choose a traditional path to the top, but ultimately spent three seasons in the highest quality European league, the Continental Hockey League. In Nizhny Novgorod and Novosibirsk, he experienced everything - from quality hockey to the status of a local celebrity and bribing police officers to visiting one of the ugliest places on earth. Along the way, he encountered legends, including Dominik Hašek and Jaromír Jágr.
