A collection of old postcards, photographs, and documents accompanying the district of Prague - Smíchov. Most were taken at the end of the nineteenth century and in the first half of the twentieth century. This lavish book is based on the exhibition of the same name that took place in 2007 in the halls of the Museum of the Capital City of Prague and in Portheimka. It focuses on the history of Smíchov, individual monuments, industry, transportation, etc. Here we find the oldest views of the city, Smíchov estates, churches, and cemeteries. The photographs are always accompanied by a short text.
