And how can she find the money for an expensive circus ticket? Will Saint Little John help her, or will her own ingenuity prevail? Tera Fabiánová (1930–2007) presents life in the Slovak countryside before the Second World War through the eyes of an irrepressible and endlessly positive heroine, sensitively showing young readers what it means to be treated as less than equal while longing to be the same, because above all, we are all human.
