In the calendar, we find not only dates but also names that originally mostly belonged to saints, historically documented or partially fictional characters. The mentioned day is usually the day of their death, rarely their birth, and sometimes it is associated with a particular story. By observing the weather, not only proverbs related to the feast of the respective saint were created, but also legends from the saint's life that were passed down through storytelling. However, some completely fictional tales are also tied to the weather and the seasons. These stories, collected into a small volume, are complemented by illustrations by Jiří Trnka.
