What could be the reason that God did not create all children, those heavenly pearls, together as angels—exactly as many as He wanted to have—but distributes them differently among people? He honors people by allowing them to become helpers of their Creator in multiplying His creations. However, they should not only find pleasure and joy in them but also work on them. This work means guiding them to become what they are meant to be. Therefore, parents do not fulfill their duties to their child merely by teaching them to eat, drink, walk, talk, and dress. Inside the body resides a steward (namely, the rational soul), which needs to be cared for more than the outer dwelling, its home. The soul and mind are the main parts of a person, so they should primarily be nurtured to grow successfully and nobly. A well-nurtured mind is one that is enlightened by heavenly wisdom, so that a person knows the dignity of God's image within themselves and guards and defends it. May our children shine more and more brightly each day like living images of God, radiating the rays of His eternal and imperishable power, wisdom, and goodness.
