After a long time, a book about Czech martyrs written by Jan Amos Komenský is once again reaching the Czech nation, adapted to the language of the 21st century. This work, which could be called a book of blood and tears, pain and suffering, was Komenský's response to the severely tested church of the first half of the 17th century. It has been beautifully said that there are places in it that will tighten every Czech heart with pain. Its main content consists of the unspeakable horrors of White Mountain and is written by brotherly exiles in the twelfth year after the unfortunate November 8, 1620. It is a child of misery and need, but also of a beautiful, effective love. Komenský's collaborators were tasked with gathering materials, memories, and testimonies about the post-White Mountain persecution. Komenský, who did the most work on the project and therefore rightfully claims it as his own, was responsible for editing the entire work. The main and most valuable part of the book, which describes the post-White Mountain persecution of Czech evangelicals, is based on the testimonies of eyewitnesses, mostly from the Unity or at least its friends.
