... is the first in a series of journalistic books about the development of the mafia in the Czech Republic. The books in this series will be subtitled Polosvět. They map the emergence and development of organized crime in Czechoslovakia and the Czech Republic after 1989. The entire project, which the author has been preparing for several years, will have several parts. The first part is dedicated to the Russian mafia, which settled here at the very beginning of the 1990s. It is a project that will take you back, especially and precisely, to this decade, which in terms of gangsterism resembled the 1930s in American Chicago. The series of books with the subtitle Polosvět will gradually map all developmental phases of the mafia in the Czech Republic.
