Letecká security – Koverdynský Bohdan (2014)

The protection of civil aviation against unlawful acts, more commonly referred to by the English term security, is a relatively young aviation sector. It only became a fully-fledged field in 1974 when the International Civil Aviation Organization, in response to the eruption of aviation terrorism and subsequent pressure from major powers, established the first binding standards and incorporated them into a new separate annex to the Chicago Convention, numbered seventeen. Forty years have passed since then. The international community is constantly confronted with innovative as well as traditional methods of terrorists; in response to attacks, new security measures are developed, and the use of cutting-edge security technologies is expanded. However, politics still plays a role in combating unlawful acts. Some methods of power struggle directly provoke unlawful acts, while others hinder investigations or prevent the punishment of criminals. Despite the attractiveness of the topic, today there are no publications on the Czech market that address this subject in a more comprehensive form. I am trying to fill this gap with my book.
