The European Union presents itself as an honorable mediator in the Middle East in carefully prepared official statements. However, in reality, the governments of the 27 EU member states have long been trying to accommodate Israel, which occupies Palestinian territories. Journalist David Cronin examines this relationship and its outcomes.
