The Book of Speaking Trees is neither about nature nor about drawing, although it draws from both. This book teaches us to communicate. It teaches us how to look at things from different angles and helps us better understand ourselves and subsequently others. It teaches us to piece together the fragments of life into a whole. We can think, but we are afraid to feel, says the author in the book. Knowing is not the same as seeing, and seeing is not the same as experiencing. That is why I draw. An image speaks more. It shows a different perspective and has the power to open your eyes. Every tree looks different from the north and different from the south, different by day and different by night, different in summer and different in winter – and the same goes for us. Trees teach us to perceive the whole. However, their wisdom can only be understood by those who quiet themselves. These trees grow for those of you who already want to live in harmony with yourselves and with the world. For those of you who want to create a functional whole. Where communication works, there is no space for manipulation. Where communication works, there is no space for illness. Where communication works, love resides. And where love does not reside, illness dwells.
