Beschreibung
The military aircraft factory Letov successfully established itself in the mid-1920s with a series of fighter aircraft, the Letov Š-20, for the Czechoslovak Air Force, which it also exported abroad. The factory utilized all the insights and experiences from the test flights of the Š-20J prototype with the Jupiter engine in designing a new fighter aircraft designated as Š-31. Letov offered its new fighter aircraft to the military administration on April 19, 1928. They responded, and the first four Š-31 aircraft were ordered on September 3, 1928. Ultimately, the soldiers preferred the Avia Ba-33 fighter, and the Letov Š-31 was produced in all versions in a total of 21 units. The book details the development, production, and service of the fighter squadrons of our air force in the 1930s and the history of each aircraft produced.
