We live as if in a 'turbulent time': The culprit or cause of today's global civilizational crisis is being sought but remains unfound. Politicians of all orientations gather at large and financially costly world assemblies to find solutions to the crisis and return our lives to their original pre-crisis state, to a kind of renewed 'consumer paradise' that we have become accustomed to in developed civilizations. They should also ask themselves what human values this lost paradise was based on. It was a paradise of an advanced secular civilization, largely founded on socio-culturally advanced natural science. This oldest segment of scientific knowledge has challenged the traditional religious explanations of human values that underpinned all previous human history and oriented the civilizationally advanced society towards consumer secular values. The author has been contemplating since his youth whether human life has any meaning. He has written many publications on this topic that have captivated the general public. His latest book Civilization and Morality reflects the author's latest insights, which he presents to the reading public in an understandable form.
