Beschreibung
People have long been fascinated by quality. Looking back several decades to the period of communism, or more precisely socialism, citizens of communist Central and Eastern Europe browsed Western catalogues of consumer goods and other products, admiring the design and functions of washing machines, refrigerators, televisions and more. Occasionally, someone managed to acquire such a product, which neighbours and friends admired during visits. At the same time, quality did exist in some areas of communist Europe, occasionally including technical products, but it was especially evident in food. This book provides a basic introduction to quality and quality management from the perspective of the organisation that creates it. Part of the text also examines quality from the consumer’s perspective, giving readers a comprehensive view from both sides. The book can be used in university teaching in economics and technical fields, as well as by employees in relevant sectors.
