The Russian Orthodox Church is the largest of the Orthodox Church communities. Its influence extends beyond the borders of the Russian Federation to the territories of Ukraine, Belarus, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Moldova, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan; many parishes are also located in Western Europe and the United States. The foundations of the social concept are among the most important documents in the modern history of the Russian Orthodox Church.
