The aim of the presented monograph, which is based on several years of research in the British National Archives as well as in other foreign and domestic archives, is to analyze the perception and approach of the British Embassy in Prague and, through its reports, the British Foreign Office to the issue of Czech-German relations, or the relationship between Czechs and Germans in Czechoslovakia from 1933 to 1938; the author focused solely on the Czech lands, leaving aside the so-called Carpathian Germans in Slovakia. In terms of the time frame, this concerns the period when the German minority in Czechoslovakia began to gradually activate and subsequently radicalize after Adolf Hitler's rise to the position of Reich Chancellor, leading a significant portion to align with the Sudeten German Party in the 1935 elections and to play a major role in the end of the First Czechoslovak Republic three years later. Although there were exceptions, the German Social Democracy remained loyal to it until the end of its existence.
