The series of books on ruins by renowned castleologist Professor Tomáš Durdík and photographer Viktor Sušický continues with an opulent publication, this time mapping the ruins in the region of Eastern Bohemia. The book presents over 400 color photographs of 50 well-known and lesser-known locations, includes numerous expert pen-drawn sketches, detailed descriptions of access, and, of course, a well-informed outline of the history of the monument with a description of its architectural development from its inception to the present day. The entire book is translated into English in the appendix. After a long hiatus, the publication continues from the previous three volumes: Ruins of Castles, Fortresses, and Chateaus – Central Bohemia (2000), Southern Bohemia (2002), and Western Bohemia (2005), which received positive reader feedback.
