Děti – Téver Felix (2010)

Felix Téver - this unusual name was used by Czech writer Anna Lauermannová-Mikschová. The pseudonym, which translates to 'happy Tiber,' refers to her several-month stay in Rome, where she drew new energy and artistic inspiration after her separation from her husband, the grandson of Josef Jungmann. Anna was born in 1852 into the family of a well-known Prague doctor, who was among the patriotically minded residents of Prague. Her best friend was Marie Riegerová, the daughter of politician František Rieger, so from childhood and youth, she had the opportunity to meet politicians, artists, and scientists of Prague at that time. Her most successful novel, 'Children' from 1921, immerses us in the fate of the earthy official Kalina's family, with whom we experience both joyful and touching moments of his life, full of unexpected twists against the captivating backdrop of Prague at the end of the 19th century. We can compare the relationships between parents and their teenage children of that time with those of today, and we will be surprised to find that many things in people's fates still repeat.
