The textbook Ene mene 2 is intended for second-grade elementary school students. The content in the second part reviews and develops the material from the first grade, so complete beginners can also work with the textbook. Students become familiar with the sound and graphic form of the German language. They acquire communicative foreign language skills of phonetic and lexical minimum. In the area of productive and receptive activities, they develop speaking and listening comprehension. Based on audiovisual reception, students practice reading techniques in a foreign language. The student textbook also serves as a workbook and is enriched with an appendix summarizing the second-grade curriculum, called a portfolio, and worksheets. An essential part of the set consists of cassettes or CDs that contain phonetic exercises, songs, rhymes, and counting songs recorded by native speakers (adults and children) and relaxing music. The entire set is guided by puppets Lisa and Jens.
