The textbook Ene mene 2 is intended for 2nd-grade elementary school students. The content in the second part reviews and develops the material from the 1st grade, so complete beginners can also work with the textbook. Students become familiar with the sound and graphic form of the German language. They acquire communicative foreign language skills of phonetic and lexical minimum. In the area of productive and receptive activities, they develop speaking and listening comprehension. Based on audiovisual reception, students practice reading techniques in a foreign language. The student textbook also serves as a workbook and is enriched with an appendix summarizing the 2nd-grade curriculum, known as a portfolio, and worksheets. The teacher's book also serves as a methodological guide, containing inserted sheets with methodological suggestions for each lesson and appendices – instructions for classroom work, thematic vocabulary, and alphabetical German-Czech and Czech-German dictionaries. The teacher's book is supplemented by separate color and black-and-white visual appendices, a list of songs including sheet music, and overhead projector transparencies.
