Even God sometimes needs a vacation to rest not only from the devil and his wicked schemes but also from ungrateful and constantly warring humanity. However, God cannot just pack up and leave - he must find a replacement. The acting God will be Finnish crane operator Pirjeri Ryynänen. Saint Peter and Archangel Gabriel choose him from hundreds of other candidates, but soon they regret their choice. The new God - even if only for a limited time - has grand plans that turn heavenly order upside down: he wants to relocate heaven from Bulgaria to Finland, teach angels computer literacy, and even depose a too-conservative pope - and ultimately, he starts creating new creatures. That was a mistake... This excellent humorous novel also offers reflections on a world where good and evil sometimes take unexpected forms. First Czech edition.
