In the novel The Sign of Eternity, Anker Larsen processes his dream of a new world – a world of love that dwells in the yet unborn, a world of eternity that has entered among people and become life itself. In a series of more or less independent episodes, he captures the gradual approach of the main protagonist (Jan Larsen) to the 'divine world' – the solar heaven – culminating in a complete, unconditional surrender to the divine will in the sacrifice of oneself for the growth of others. From this sacrifice, a new society is born – a community that grows into heaven.
