The novel trilogy Operativec continues with its second installment. We once again meet Captain David Prokop, who this time is deployed as an operative of the military intelligence service within the contingent of the Czech Republic Army in Afghanistan. Just before the end of his mission, however, a Czech couple is kidnapped, and Captain Prokop is immediately called to the case. What led the Afghan kidnappers to such a desperate crime, and why did they not even claim responsibility for the abduction? Is it even possible to trace the Czech couple in the dark alleys of Kabul's suburbs? And how will all of this affect David's personal life once again? The Bumbling Fools from Kabul loosely follows the espionage thriller The Rule of Three Sources. Eduard Krainer knows the environment he writes about perfectly, making his novels very authentic. He realistically depicts the work of an investigator, the operational procedures of the army, and the cooperation of various nationalities on foreign missions. In his action scenes, crafted with humor and levity, the reader is entertained while also feeling a sense of dread. Eduard Krainer, after all, draws from his own experiences in this book – during his time in the Afghan mission, he was actively involved in the search for two Czech women kidnapped in 2013 in Balochistan.
