The popular podcast is back in book form for the third time! ***** Why do we constantly return to Munich 1938 as a trauma and cherish the feeling that we were betrayed? How do we perceive historical figures and why, for example, has F. L. Rieger slipped from our memory, despite being involved in most steps of Czech politics in the 19th century? Who were the real winners of February 1948 and what were the fates of those who found themselves at the peak of power? And what impact did the brief period of Mikhail Gorbachev's rule have on life in Czechoslovakia? ***** The authors of Rewrite History for the third time will take a closer look at forgotten or 'rewritten' figures of our history, such as Alois Rašín or Antonín Švehla, and the events of Munich 1938 and February 1948, which will be dedicated to separate sections. The book will also include a look at the East and Czech-Russian relations, as well as the topic of borders and our neighbors. And since the book is published in the year of the exchange at Prague Castle, the conclusion will be dedicated to all our previous presidents. However, rather than focusing on their detailed biographies, the authors will concentrate on the performance of their presidential office, from T. G. Masaryk to Miloš Zeman. All of this in more than thirty chapters.
