In the book Approaches in Art Therapy, its editor Judith Aron Rubin introduces us to the foundations of the field and art therapeutic practice. With the help of illustrative examples of applying various psychotherapeutic approaches to art therapy, she presents a multitude of therapeutic options alongside other significant authors, giving readers the opportunity to understand a range of theoretical constructs and choose those that suit them best in their work. Each of the five sections examines art therapy from the perspective of one of the main psychological and psychotherapeutic directions. The first section focuses on psychodynamic approaches, including Freudian and Jungian perspectives.
