Beschreibung
This book discusses photography and psychoanalysis. It is based on Roland Barthes' philosophical perspective on photography and psychoanalytic theories that deal with the psychological understanding of the unknown or repressed outside of consciousness. It is about the search for understanding of the unrecognized perceptions randomly extracted from the chaos of the world, for images that have been abandoned and stripped of life over time, which we perceive as impersonal or alienated. There is an attempt to glimpse into the beginnings of how we become aware of what we see, in order to revive the perceived and give it a vital meaning for our minds, thus enabling the communication of acquired knowledge in a lively and comprehensible way. The images that emerge in our minds when encountering the unknown offer evocative metaphors that point to the connections of various unconscious contexts of the psyche and become a starting point for our conscious understanding. Image metaphors do not confirm established concepts but point to new connections and expand our knowledge.
