Zemědělské etudy - Proměny Vysoké školy zemědělské v pamětnických reflexích – Kreisslová Sandra (2023)

The book deals with the institutional development and everyday operations of the Agricultural University in Prague (now the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague) from its independence in 1952 to the early 1990s. The historical overview introduces readers to the earliest history of higher agricultural education in Prague and subsequently to the context of institutional and personnel development, pedagogical and scientific-research changes at the Agricultural University, including the social, economic, and political-ideological processes that influenced its functioning, organization, and further direction. Through biographical narratives, the publication offers the opportunity to follow how representatives from several generations of the school's representatives, academic staff, and students remember different periods of the institution's existence during socialism. The memories reflect various issues from personal motivations for studying, the possibilities and course of study, the everyday functioning of individual faculties and departments, to the development of taught disciplines or the influence of communist ideology. It is published in cooperation with the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague.
