T nula – Calvino Italo (2023)

In the stories of the collection T zero, Italo Calvino develops themes and formal strategies initiated by Cosmic grotesques and demonstrates that experimental zeal has certainly not left him. Calvino always placed great importance on the dialogue between literature and science and was convinced that scientific hypotheses could lead writers most directly to what they should talk about: a conversation with the universe. In the first section, the protean narrator Qfwfq returns, and in the following triptych Priscilla, Calvino created an image of life 'at the cellular level,' while the stories in the final part the author himself labeled as deductive, their theme being a specific situation, almost a point-like presence. The individual texts explore the alternatives that each moment is full of and by which the future can subsequently unfold... However, storytelling and life are ultimately always somewhat similar in Calvino's work: in both cases, we are dealing with a constantly unfolding plurality of possibilities, the combinatorics of which can never be fully exhausted.
