This Czech-language book reflects on the demands of family life: being in music class, at training and shopping at the same time; managing a large shop with two children in the trolley and three more running around; communicating intelligently with the children so they will not later accuse their mother of neglecting them; surviving without sleep; and giving every family member, including her husband, individual attention. It asks whether one can avoid shouting, blaming and crying, and what happens when constant presence at home is no longer required and it is time to return to paid employment, where these competencies are no longer needed. The book ultimately asks why she went through it all in the first place.
