Jean-Patrick, a French history professor, finds himself in the dark Middle Ages after reading an ancient manuscript in his sleep. Other documents, which allow him to witness the fall of a Templar fortress, prevent the rape of a beautiful marquise, speak with Bonaparte, or sit in the cockpit of a fighter jet, force the professor to accept this strange phenomenon. Fascinated by the experiences and memories of characters whose personalities become an integral part of his own, he completely succumbs to the mysterious power of the documents. However, the consequence is a serious crisis with his wife Charlotte and the looming collapse of their long-term relationship. Their son, J. P. junior, thus becomes the last hope for saving the marriage, but only if the documents will have an effect on him... Can the family bond overcome the hatred between the cross and the chalice?
