The final part of the novel based on true events about the Volman family, founders of a significant machine tool company in Žebrák and Čelákovice, takes us to the 1950s and early 1960s. However, we will also delve deeper into the past, into the period of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the world wars, and the economic crisis. And it is precisely because of so many groundbreaking events that our ancestors faced in the last century that this part bears the subtitle "Turbulent Times." Against the backdrop of a tumultuous history, the strong story of family members comes to life again, and their professions often become the only island of light in the darkness. The plot is based on archival documents, a factory chronicle written by Otakar Volman, as well as authentic records and letters that have been preserved in the family, some of which are directly quoted. A photographic appendix is included.
