The world of short fairy tales, which can also serve as 'first readings' for beginner readers, is introduced to us by an author who has previously published in the genre of fantasy literature for adults and is now turning to a children's audience. The author Pavel Motejlek describes himself: 'I am by nature a dreamer and I really enjoy writing about worlds I have imagined myself. I have fun writing books and I would love for my literary works to bring joy to others as well. When our family began to grow with grandchildren, I decided to create stories for them too, so that some of the first fairy tales they would know would be from their grandfather. After all, fairy tales are essentially a kind of fantasy for children, thus falling into a genre that I enjoy. I believe that my world of goblins, fairies, giants, and other fairy tale characters will entertain young readers and bring a smile to their faces.' The rich illustrations in this book were provided by the experienced artist David Ištok.
