Život Berounska a Hořovicka - Regionální výpravy za rostlinami a živočichy – Šnaidauf Emil (2022)

The very diverse natural conditions of the Beroun and Hořovice regions condition the occurrence of many ecosystems with an extraordinarily rich representation of fauna and flora. The great natural wealth of this part of the Central Bohemian Region is also confirmed by the existence of three protected landscape areas - Český kras, Křivoklátsko, and Brdy. The individual chapters of this publication present selected biotopes and the organisms that inhabit them. This is not an encyclopedic overview of species, but an introduction to attractive animals and plants with remarkable characteristics and interesting ways of life. The author introduces us to rare and protected species on one hand, but also to little-known facts about the lives of seemingly ordinary organisms. The ambition of this publication is to spark readers' interest in further exploring the local nature and also in its active protection. Richly illustrated with photographs, the book continues the successful editorial series of publications about this region, which has previously focused on the underground of the area or the specific theme of mushrooms (The Underground of Beroun and Hořovice, Mushrooms of Beroun and Hořovice).
