7,5cm horský kanon vz.15 – Škarka Jan (2025)

This Czech-language book introduces a legendary mountain gun design that has so far received little attention locally. While earlier foreign monographs focus mainly on the gun’s technical description and service in Austria-Hungary and later Italy, this publication also examines its importance for the Czechoslovak army and for the history of artillery technology. It presents the Škoda mountain gun to military-technology enthusiasts, model makers, amateur and professional researchers, and collectors of militaria. Alongside the text, it contains an extensive visual section, a technical description and numerous tables based on period artillery regulations from the State Regional Archive in Plzeň, the Military History Archive and the author’s own archive. The illustrations consist chiefly of original material from the author’s collection, supplemented by photographs taken at the Military Technical Museum Lešany and the Museum of the Slovak National Uprising in Banská Bystrica. The book draws on Czech and foreign publications, periodicals, newspaper-cutting archives and websites, and includes numerous black-and-white photographs, colour photographs of selected museum exhibits, drawings and sketches.
