Beschreibung
In the second half of the 1920s and the first half of the 1930s, the American company Curtiss made a name for itself with its biplane fighters, sold under the trade name Hawk. Individual versions successfully served both in the United States Army Air Corps (USAAC) and the US Navy, as well as with several foreign users. These aircraft (it should be noted that the designation Hawk was not officially used by the US Navy in any form) became very popular not only in the armed forces but also among the general public and abroad because they 'looked good.' They even became a sort of synonym for American biplane fighters of their time. The company gradually produced them in a number of versions, which, while receiving increasingly powerful engines and some design and aerodynamic improvements, retained the same basic structure. This publication is dedicated to the F11C-2 dive bombers (designated BFC-2 from March 21, 1934) and their export counterparts Hawk II, which spread to many air forces in South America, Asia, and Europe.
