Zlín C-6/106 v československém letectvu – Irra Miroslav (2020)

The German elementary training aircraft Bücker Bü 181 "Bestmann", produced here during the war for the Luftwaffe and after the war for our military aviation under the designation Zlín C-6/106, is another legend from the period of post-war construction of Czechoslovak military aviation. Over a thousand young pilots were trained in the basics of aviation on it at the Aviation School until the early fifties, and from 1949 to 1950 it also served in the elementary training of half of the last intake year of LVA. In addition, it was operated by other branches of Czechoslovak aviation, where it was used for pilot examinations, instrument flying training, aerobatics practice, courier flights, and more. Its career in military aviation lasted approximately as long as that of its corporate counterpart Bü 131, but despite this, both types became inseparable legends of our aviation history. Those who began their careers as military pilots on them still remember fondly. This type is equally significant for our sport aviation, as a considerable part of the post-war production was delivered directly to aeroclubs, where it served just as faithfully as in military aviation.
