Beschreibung
We Were Five is now a classic humorous novel from 1943. From a childishly naive perspective, it tells the story of five boys from a small town and their everyday antics and adventures. The story is narrated by Petr Bajza, who is also the author's partial alter ego and brings the book to life with his colorful mix of colloquial and overly literary expressions. His way of speaking is the most typical and well-known feature of this long-standing evergreen. In 1953, the work was adapted for radio, featuring the legendary actor and voice artist František Filipovský. Forty years later, it inspired a very successful and beloved television series of the same name, written by screenwriter Ondřej Vogeltanz and brought to life under the direction of Karel Smyczek. The series continues to return to television screens today.
