On the day of the party celebrating Lia's graduation, her parents – wealthy art collectors with friends in high places – gifted her a beautiful wine goblet, a rare artifact adorned with roses. It is an amazing gift that August Bowman, a family friend and guest at the party, has his eye on as well.
